This policy explains what personal information Elevate Science collects when you use this website or get in touch about tuition, and how that information is used.
Who this policy covers
Elevate Science is a sole-tutor tuition service run by Angela ("we", "us"). This policy applies to visitors to this website and to parents, guardians and students who make an enquiry or booking.
What information we collect
When you fill in the enquiry form or book a session, we collect:
- Your name and contact details (email, phone number)
- Your child's year group or level of study
- The subject and format you're enquiring about
- Any message or additional details you choose to share
- The date and time you request when booking a session, via Google Calendar's appointment scheduling feature
We do not knowingly collect information directly from children — details about a student are provided to us by a parent or guardian.
How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and arrange tuition
- To confirm, reschedule or manage booked sessions
- To keep basic records of who we are tutoring, for safeguarding and continuity of teaching
We do not sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
How enquiries and bookings are handled
The enquiry form on this site opens your own email application with the details you've entered, and sends that email directly to elevatesciencetoday@gmail.com. The booking calendar is provided by Google Calendar's appointment scheduling feature; when you book a slot, your name, email and any notes you add are shared with Google and stored in Angela's Google Calendar. Google's own privacy policy applies to that part of the process — see policies.google.com/privacy.
Cookies
This website itself does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Google Fonts and the embedded Google Calendar booking page may set their own cookies or load resources from Google's servers when the page is viewed — this is standard for embedded Google services and is governed by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry and booking records for as long as we're teaching together, and normally delete them within 12 months of your last session with us, unless we're required to keep them for longer for legal reasons.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you can ask to see the information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do this, email elevatesciencetoday@gmail.com.
